Year 6 camp is well and truly underway! We have had a fantastic first day eating lunch at Torquay seafront, playing games on the beach and then finally heading to our home for the week – Barton Hall. After settling in, we had our first meal and then headed outside for a team game of hide and seek! Both teams were very successful with the game ending with a 2:2 draw. The winning team was decided by a ‘moo off’. Well done to Jamie and Marcus for volunteering to represent their team and an even bigger well done to Marcus – the ‘moo off’ champion!
Day two at Barton Hall. The day started with a nutritious breakfast before heading out to complete the activities for the day. The day consisted of many interesting activities from the crate challenge to orienteering finished off with a Robot Wars competition! Everyone has had a fantastic time in the sunshine and cannot wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow. We are really proud of each and every one of the year six children for their good behaviour, engagement in all tasks, determination to succeed and bravery to try something new. Well done! Here’s to another fantastic day tomorrow!
Day three has been a very exciting day! One of the favourites of today was canoeing – every child took to the water and enjoyed playing a variety of games, with many who hadn’t already fallen in the water, then jumping in and having a swim. After lunch, the swimming pool was calling and we all went in for team games. Today was a very special day for one of our campers -Macie! She celebrated her birthday in style with all of us singing to her around the campfire and being surprised with not one but three birthday cakes!!!
Day four at Barton Hall – a day filled with fun and adventure. We challenged our partner to a duel during fencing, we flew the zip wire and conquered the giant swing. For many of us, this was a challenging experience but with perseverance and determination, many of us were able to succeed.
Our last night on site meant we could enjoy the disco. We grabbed our best party wear and headed for party to end our stay. We danced the night away and celebrated what a fantastic week it has been.
