Information about the Children’s University
What is Children’s University?
Children’s University is a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children. We do this by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school. The impact of these activities is proven to be positive which is why we’re committed to creating a level playing field of opportunity and opening up access to children of all backgrounds.
Children’s University Passport To Learning.
Every child in our school has been given a Passport to Learning which they will use to collect stamp codes in.
Why do I need a Passport To Learning?
Your Passport To Learning shows that you are a member of the Children’s University. You can use your Passport To Learning to record all of the CU Learning Activities that you take part in at CU Learning Destinations and collect evidence of the hours of learning you have completed whilst working towards a CU Certificate. These will be presented at a CU Graduation Ceremony in the summer for all those who have completed 30 hours.
Where can I use my Passport to Learning?
Some of the hours you collect will be for CU Learning Activities you do at school (see the challenges above) and some of the hours you collect will be for visits to Public CU Learning Destinations. Most CU Learning Destinations display our Learning Destination sticker or poster. Remember, you can only use your Passport To Learning at CU Learning Destinations. You can find details of Public Learning Destinations on our website. https://www.childrensuniversity.co.uk/
What do you need to do?
Complete the activity and write it into your passport. At the end of the activity ask for the STAMP CODE. We will use these codes to track your activities on the online platform.
What is there isn’t a STAMP CODE for my activity?
If you find that a learning destination or activity that you attend doesn’t have a stamp code please get in touch with your local Children’s University by emailing CU@uwe.ac.uk They will be able to contact the learning destination and validate your activity. You can also submit a stamp appeal so that you are not missing out.
