Safer Internet Day 2017

Children throughout the school took part in an exciting morning of activities to promote awareness of being safe on the internet, providing them with strategies and methods to stay safe online. EYFS and Key Stage One were introduced to how they could stay safe on the internet. EYFS learned a song, explaining that they should always ask for help if they are unsure what to do when on the internet. Key Stage One created brilliant posters showing their learning and understanding of the SMART rule. Lower Key Stage Two were learning all about ways in which we should communicate with others online. They produced a fantastic Twitter wall with advice for other learners around school as well as creating apps to help and support how children can communicate with each other online. Upper Key Stage Two pupils were learning about how they can be safe on social media, understanding the dangers and risks behind these platforms and how they can keep themselves safe. The children produced remarkable leaflets to support others and show their learning to our families. The amazing learning of the children was presented in the afternoon at a workshop where families checked out the brilliant learning and knowledge that the children had of how to be safe online. In addition to all of this, the Digital Leaders created a “How to stay safe online” video for children, families and teachers to all enjoy. A brilliant effort from Team Bowsland – well done to all!
