Science Trip KS1 & LKS2 2017

On Wednesday 29th March,  KS1 and LKS2 went on a Science trip to a university (UWE). We were taught by many students at the university and they planned science investigations on the subjects we were being taught at school. It was very enjoyable and we learnt a lot.

KS1 were looking at habitatsand animals. Each class had different activities like creating a bug house, make/looking at the life cycle of a frog, identifying what animals need to survive and sorting living and non-living things.

Here are some pictures of us in action:

Holly Class

Today Holly class visited UWE to take part in some science investigations! We looked at designing bug hotels and even got the chance to go outside and make them! The students at UWE were brilliant and we really enjoyed them teaching us!

Chestnut Class

Chestnut class visited UWE as part of our science topic on animals and living things. We worked with a group of student teachers to carry out a range of activities such as guessing the odd one out, identifying the things we need to survive, identifying what animals need to survive and sorting living and non-living things. Here are some pictures from our morning:

Willow Classs

Willow class visited UWE as part of our science topic on sound. We worked with a group of student teachers to carry out a range of investigations to explore how sound is made and how it can be amplified. Take a look at the photos of us making our ‘super ears’ to help us to amplify sounds and hear better.
